The Kenya Meteorological Department has urged Nairobi residents to prepare for cold mornings, cloudy conditions and occasional showers this weekend, as it announced that most parts of the country will experience rainfall, cold conditions and strong winds from August 22 to August 25, 2025.
In a weather forecast, the department stated that rainfall is expected in the Highlands to the east and west of the Rift Valley, the Lake Victoria Basin, the Rift Valley and parts of northwestern Kenya.
The department predicted that counties such as Kisumu, Nakuru, Kakamega, Kericho and Bungoma will experience showers and thunderstorms in the afternoons, with maximum temperatures averaging between 27°C and 29°C.
In north-western Kenya, counties such as Turkana and Samburu are expected to experience scattered showers and thunderstorms, though there will also be sunny intervals.
