The owners of select items in the custody of the Customs Warehouse Keeper at the Inland Container Depot in Nairobi have been given 30 days to collect their goods, which have been categorised as abandoned, before they can be disposed of.

In an official notice dated August 22, the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) revealed that it would dispose of over 100 items on the list, effective 30 days after the notice expired.

The notice cautioned companies to clear and remove the goods from the premises within a month, or risk them being auctioned. ''A notice is given that unless the under-mentioned goods are entered and removed from the custody of the Customs Warehouse Keeper, Inland Container Depot, Nairobi, within thirty (30) days of this notice, they will be treated as abandoned and will be disposed of in accordance with the provisions of EACCMA, 2004 including being sold by public auction,'' the notice read on part.
