The National Lands Commission has announced the reservation of a 5.916-hectare (approximately 14 acres) piece of land for the expansion of the Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) in Wote Township, Makueni County.
In a notice published in the Kenya Gazette issue of August 22, the Commission announced that once granted to the institution, the institution would assume all management and development on the land. "In exercise of the powers conferred by sections 15, 16, 17, and 18 of the Land Act, 2012, the National Land Commission issues this reservation order to reserve and vest the care, control, and management of the land parcel L.R.
No. 33890 containing 5.916 hectares or thereabouts, situated in Wote Township, Makueni County, as described in FR 714/85, to the Kenya Medical Training College, Makueni Wote Campus," the notice read in part.
Although the campus shall henceforth manage the reserved land parcel, it shall be held and used under several special conditions, the most paramount being that the land shall only be used as a medical training college and ancillary services.
