The National Industrial Training Authority (NITA) in Athi River has held its third Sector Training Committee inauguration (STC) to add value and oversee upskilling of workers in specific sectors.

Mohamed Ali Noor, the Chair of the NITA Board of Directors, while speaking to the media after the inauguration, said that the STC will help to contribute to filling gaps realised during skills training. "Today we came to inaugurate STC, who are members of special organisations that we work with, and they contribute to filling gaps that we might have in skills training," added Noor.

Noor hailed STC for working behind the scenes by helping NITA to achieve expertise, embrace emerging technology, and also attain the required standards for quality industrial training.

The Board Chair added that they have 12 STC from various institutions, such as education and allied agencies, for instance, agriculture, energy and water, tourism, sports, the environment, real estate, communication, business, infrastructure, and allied agencies.
