Webuye West Member of Parliament (MP) Dan Wanyama has been summoned by the National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) over incitement remarks he made a week ago regarding the Mountain region.

In a notice dated January 27, the commission directed the MP to present himself at their headquarters on Wednesday, January 29, at 10 am to assist in investigations of the matter.

On Sunday, January 19, during an Interdenominational Prayer event at Cheptais Boys' High School in Bungoma County, Wanyama made remarks which were deemed discriminatory and could affect the peaceful coexistence of communities. "The Mountain is already slippery and will remain slippery forever.
