Last week, Kiambu County Governor Paul Kimani Wamatangi launched the 'Angaza Kiambu Programme' in Witeithie Ward, Juja Sub-County.

The initiative aims to provide sustainable lighting solutions for the people of Kiambu while reducing the high electricity costs that have burdened residents.

During the event, Governor Wamatangi oversaw the installation of 60 solar-powered streetlights.

These lights, which will automatically turn on at 6:30 PM and off at dawn, do not require electricity, offering a cost-effective alternative for the county. "The funds previously spent on electricity will now be redirected to initiatives that will drive the growth and development of Kiambu," Wamatangi stated.
