A student from Kibabii University was on Monday, January 27, arrested by the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) for posing to be a director with the 'ability to terminate ongoing corruption in exchange for money.' Through a statement, EACC confirmed that the student was arrested together with his accomplice, a fresh graduate from the same university after the two had been engaged in a spree of conning public officials and members of the public.

EACC stated that the third-year student was posing as the Director in charge of the EACC Kakamega Office.

Notably, such an office does not exist as the Commission's regional office for the Western region is based in Bungoma.

On the other hand, his female accomplice was posing as a senior EACC Director based in Nairobi.
