Lari Constituency Member of Parliament, Joseph Mburu Kahangara, has inaugurated 12 newly renovated classrooms at Nyamweru Primary School in Lari-Kirenga Ward on Monday, increasing the total number of refurbished classrooms in the school to 23 since 2024.
The renovation works included new painting, re-roofing, tiling, and replacement of dilapidated iron-sheet structures.
Speaking at the event, Mburu reaffirmed his commitment to enhancing educational infrastructure while ensuring quality learning across the constituency.
He also highlighted the government's annual financial capitation of Sh15,000 for junior secondary school learners and announced the launch of the "Tap to Eat" feeding programme for all primary schools in Lari set for second term. "The programme requires each student to contribute Sh20 daily for meals, a programme geared towards significantly reducing the cost burden on parents," Mburu stated.
