Preparations for the burial of the late Mama Anne Nanyama, the mother of National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang'ula, are complete. President William Ruto, former Prime Minister Raila Odinga and other top government officials are expected to attend the burial.
There was a somber mood Thursday during the requiem mass of Mama Nanyama at her home in Mukweya Village in Bungoma county.
The procession from Life Care Hospital brought Bungoma town to a standstill as residents came out in their numbers to bid her farewell.
Wetang'ula was overwhelmed by emotions as he paid tribute to his mother. In an emotional tribute, the Speaker expressed the indescribable pain of losing a mother, describing it as a wound that remains permanent and inexpressible.
