Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja has denied that the missing Mlolongo three-Kalani Muema, Justus Mutumwa, and Martin Mwau, are in police custody. Appearing before Justice Chacha Mwita, Kanja insisted that the three men were not being held in any police station, contrary to claims by petitioners. In a shocking turn of events, it has now emerged that Justus Mutumwa has been found dead.
According to family lawyer Dan Maanzo, his body was discovered in Ruai, and has been moved to City Mortuary, Nairobi.
Kanja on Thursday, January 30 defended himself against accusations of defying court orders, despite being summoned multiple times without appearing. "I am a law-abiding citizen who obeys and respects court orders.
I can confirm before this court that the missing three are not in our custody," he told the court. DCI Boss Mohammed Amin: I wish to confirm that I was given clear instructions by the IG of the National Police Service, to make sure that expeditious investigations are instituted in relation to all the missing person reports.
