The National Police Service Commission on Thursday, January 30, flagged as fake an advertisement notifying the public of a recruitment drive for police constables.
While dismissing the advertisement, the Commission reiterated that it was the only body mandated with recruiting police officers and it was yet to formally announce an opening. "The National Police Service Commission has noted with concern a fake advertisement circulating on social media purporting to advertise and announce the recruitment of police constables," NPSC stated. "We wish to categorically state that the mandate to recruit and appoint persons to serve in the National Police Service rests solely with the Commission, as provided under Article 246(3)(a) of the Constitution of Kenya.
Any communication regarding police recruitment can only originate from the Commission," the Commission added.
