The State Department Basic Education Principal Secretary (PS), Belio Kipsang, has launched six grade nine classrooms at Moi Forces Academy, a move aimed at providing children with quality education, fostering national development, and nurturing the future of the nation's youth.
Speaking on Thursday during the event, Kipsang emphasized that education was the cornerstone of national development, highlighting the critical role institutions like Moi Forces Academy played in nurturing the future of students. "The partnership we see today in these classrooms is a testament to the joint efforts of the Ministry of Education and Kenya Defense Forces.
The Ministry of Education will continue to support education by providing the necessary resources in terms of infrastructure and human capital together with our colleagues at the Teacher Service Commission (TSC)," he said. "As Ministry of Education, once again I want to commit to ensuring that every child has an equal opportunity to access relevant, inclusive, and quality education that equips them with the necessary skills, knowledge, and values to navigate the world, which is getting increasingly complex and challenging," he said.
He acknowledged the growing number of students, particularly in grades eight and nine, a trend that could pose a challenge in accommodating them, saying that was why the ministry was already planning for that eventuality by committing to construct more classrooms. "We have seen a significant enrolment growth, and we are working to ensure that we have enough classrooms for our students," he said.
