Following reports of a data breach and an alleged hacking of the government database at the Business Registration Service (BRS), the agency has issued a statement addressing the incident.
In a statement on Sunday, BRS Director General Kenneth Gathuma confirmed that a response plan has been activated to contain the situation. ''The Business Registration Service (BRS) is aware of reports regarding a potential data breach affecting the company registry's information.
Upon receiving this information, we immediately activated our Incident Response Plan, launched a comprehensive investigation, and notified the relevant regulatory authorities,'' Gathuma announced. Additionally, Gathuma stated that investigative agencies have been notified and are working closely with BRS to identify the hackers.
