A scrap metal dealer in Nairobi's Kariobangi slum has been arrested.

The dealer was arrested on Monday night in possession of 31 trolleys believed to have been stolen from the city centre.

According to police, the suspect was traced after trolley operators within the CBD reported through their chairperson that their tools of trade had been stolen.

The trollies went missing on Jan 18, 2025, as City Hall reinforcement officers mounted a crackdown against the trolleys and handcarts.
