Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti on Tuesday, February 4, led the county government in installing CCTV cameras across county hospitals to curb theft of medicines and mismanagement of funds.
While overseeing the activity, Ndeti warned of dire consequences to persons caught in the act as the county aims to bring an end to the menace that has ravaged the health sector in Machakos. "The bad behaviour of stealing medicines will soon come to an end.
Some people thought they were so clever, they knew all the nooks and crannies in our hospitals, the 'dark corners.' I have found all the dark corners and put CCTV cameras," Ndeti stated. "With these cameras, the daily operations of our hospitals will run smoothly.
If we lose medicines and money it becomes hard for me to promote our doctors, nurses and county workers," she added.
