Narok Central Sub County Police Commander John Momanyi has raised concern over increased misinformation spread through social media platforms that has the potential to cause tension in the county.
He warned that those spreading such information through platforms with the aim of causing unrest among the people would be arrested and charged in a court of law accordingly.
The concern comes a day after a body was found lying at Nyawira streets in Narok town on Sunday, where rumours spread on social media that the man had been hacked to death by a group of thugs operating in the town.
Momanyi, who was speaking to the press in his office, dismissed the claims, saying initial investigations showed that the body had no physical injuries and that there was no proof that the man had been hacked to death as per the information spreading on social media.
