Residents of Kirinyaga County have been encouraged to continue registering for the Social Health Authority (SHA) to access improved healthcare services.

The call was made by Kirinyaga County Commissioner Hussein Allasow during a memorial event marking the first anniversary of the tragic deaths of 23 people due to illicit brew consumption in Kangai area last year.

Speaking at the event Tuesday, the county commissioner emphasised the importance of SHA, stating that it is a crucial step toward ensuring that all citizens receive proper medical care in hospitals.

He urged locals to take advantage of the new system, which replaces the National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF), noting that SHA offers better healthcare opportunities and benefits. "We understand that there have been some challenges in the registration process, but I want to assure you that the government is actively working on resolving them.
