West Pokot Governor Simon Kachapin has officially commissioned 80 new stalls at Bendera Market in Kapenguria Ward so as to boost local trade and support small scale entrepreneurs.

The initiative is set to transform the local trading environment by providing better facilities for vendors to sell their goods, fostering economic growth, and improving business opportunities for the community.

Speaking During the commissioning ceremony at Bendera, Kachapin emphasised the strategic importance of the new market, highlighting that it would serve as a convenient shopping hub for students, staff, and residents of the surrounding areas.

He noted that the development would not only improve the retail experience but also contribute to the economic vitality of the region by providing local traders with a platform to meet the growing demand for goods and services.
