In a heartbreaking turn of events, a newborn baby was abandoned at ITARC hospital in Naivasha, Nakuru County, after the mother rejected the child for being disabled.
In what usually ends as a joyous celebration with a mother excited to carry her newborn baby home, that was not the case at ITARC hospital.
After giving birth and seeing that the child had some deformities, the mother immediately rejected the child and told the nurses that she didn't want it.
The new mother reportedly refused to dress the baby in the clothes she had bought and parked them in a bag before abandoning the baby on the bed. "The mother looked at the baby and rejected it when she saw the abnormalities, she even took the baby's clothes and packed them before leaving," one of the hospital's staff revealed.
