Machakos County Government workers can finally breathe a sigh of relief after Governor Wavinya Ndeti announced the promotion of more than 1,000 county workers  Speaking on Friday, February 15, during the launch of the County Public Service Policy, which outlines guidelines for staff welfare and career progression, the governor ordered the immediate promotion of 86 staff members who are set to retire in 2025.

The governor, who addressed hundreds of workers drawn from various departments, said her administration was also on the verge of promoting more than 916 workers whose promotions had been delayed for the past nine years.

According to Governor Wavinya, the 916 workers would be promoted beginning July 1, this year, as part of the broader plan to address career stagnation.
