Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has said that Mt Kenya residents will forgive President William Ruto despite allegations of betrayal but maintained that the region will never forget about it.

Gachagua, who spoke in Olkalou constituency, Nyandarua County, on Saturday during the consecration service of Bishop George Gathari, noted that the Mt Kenya region will consult widely before deciding on the candidate to support.

He stated that the populous region would also assess every leader's track record before deciding their support for the preferred candidates, further stating that the region was now planning a new direction after the betrayal.

According to Gachagua, the Mt Kenya region was duped into supporting President Ruto, but immediately after he became the country's Head of State, it has neglected the region.
