Kenyan lawmakers on Sunday announced key radical changes that they will petition following the defeat Kenya suffered at the African Union Commission on Sunday, including the withdrawal of Kenya from key bodies of the union. Reacting to the loss, opposition leaders led by Homabay Member of Parliament Peter Opondo Kaluma announced that they were mulling a petition for the removal of the East Africa Community from the African Union. Kaluma, a staunch ally of Raila Odinga, Kenya's candidate for the AUC seat, shared the information on his X account, shortly after Kenya was defeated.
