Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) on Tuesday arrested a 33-year-old man who kidnapped a seven-year-old boy in the Mwihoko area of Kiambu County on February 17, 2025.
According to police reports, the suspect abducted the child while he was in the company of his parents inside a supermarket in the Mwihoko area.
The arrest followed efforts by police, who had launched a search for the suspect after parents of the missing child reported the incident. "A 33-year-old man (name withheld) has been arrested in connection with the kidnapping of a seven-year-old boy in the Mwihoko area of Kiambu County on February 17, 2025, following well-coordinated efforts by police officers and detectives based at Githurai Police Station," DCI stated in a statement.
