The Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) has flagged as fake a press release alluding to its support for President William Ruto's decision to host the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) officials in Nairobi. "The Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) wishes to clarify that it has not issued any official press release concerning the ongoing Ramadan peace process," IGAD noted in a statement. "Any statements attributed to IGAD on this matter should be verified through our official communication channels.

We urge media and the public to rely on IGAD's verified platforms for accurate information." The statement followed a fake press release dated February 18 titled "IGAD Commends President William Ruto's Leadership in the Ramadan Peace Process."
