President William Ruto has pledged goodies to Coast residents as he started his week-long tour of the region on Friday.

He promised to connect electricity for free to more than 21,000 households in Kilifi county.

Speaking in Kilifi during the burial of Mzee Kingi Mwaruwa, father to Senate Speaker Amason Kingi in Kamale village, President Ruto also promised to settle thousands of squatters in the Coast region by December.

He said his administration was determined to unite the country and end discrimination that led to some regions being left behind in development.
