Members of the County Assembly of Murang'a have approved four nominees to sit in the selection panel for recruiting members of the County Public Service Board (CPSB).

The Assembly's select committee on appointments, however, rejected one nominee who did not meet the requirements stipulated under the Public Appointment (County Assemblies Approval) Act of 2017.

The Chairperson of the Select Committee, Francis Kibe, moved a motion to adopt the report on the vetting of the nominees, recommending that the House reject the nomination of Elijah Churu, who failed to meet the set requirements.

Those found suitable for the panel included Julia Munyua, who was proposed to be chairperson; Miriam Wangari, a member of the Law Society of Kenya; John Muiruri to represent the workers' union; and Amos Kimani, a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK). "Mr.
