Kajiado County Governor Joseph ole Lenku has issued bursaries and scholarships worth Sh80 Million to their beneficiaries.

Out of the Sh80M, Sh 20 million has been earmarked as scholarships for needy and orphaned learners in secondary, university and technical institutions.

Speaking during the release the Governor said that his administration will continue increasing the amount allocated to bursaries and scholarships as the revenue collected by the county increases.

He noted that they are aware that many parents are unable to pay the school fees for their children as climate change has greatly affected livestock sector which is the main source of livelihood for many parents in the county thus they need the support of their county government. "Let us all focus on education as it will help alleviate poverty in our communities.
