Central Organisation of Trade Union secretary General Francis Atwoli has made a U turn over plans to sue Martha Karua over her choice of purple colour for the rebranded party.
This comes a day after Karua unveiled the People's Liberation Party (PLP) with a touch of purple which Atwoli said clashed with that of Cotu.
Even so, Atwoli said after consultations, he decided not to drag the matter to court citing that the union was bigger than political parties. "We have a letter of patent to that and after consultation we thought that if we pursue the matter, we will seriously build Martha Karua for nothing," Atwoli noted.
The secretary general noted that the Union is bigger than political parties citing that Cotu is represented locally and internationally. "Some people have tried using the purple colours like Maendeleo Chap-chap and but did not succeed that much, I also feel that Martha Karua's party will not be popular thus there was no need of wasting time in court," added Atwoli.
