Budding Kenyan athlete Faith Chepchirchir was on Wednesday, January 8, provisionally suspended by the Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) for the presence/use of a suspended substance- Norandrosterone.
Confirming her suspension, the AIU informed that Faith will be temporarily prohibited from participating in any competition or activity in athletics before a final decision at a hearing conducted under the World Athletics Anti-Doping Rules or the Integrity Code of Conduct. "The AIU has provisionally suspended Faith Chepchirchir Kiprotich (Kenya) for Presence/Use of a Prohibited Substance (Norandrosterone)," the AIU stated on their X platform. Subsequently, the athlete was required to respond to the charges by either admitting to the violations and providing explanations or denying the allegations and requesting further investigations.
