The US Embassy in Kenya is set to be temporarily closed on Thursday, January 9.

In a statement posted on their X account, the embassy announced that it would remain closed in observance of the national day of mourning for the late former President Jimmy Carter. "In observance of the National Day of Mourning for former President Jimmy Carter, the U.S.

Carter passed away at the age of 100 on Sunday, December 29, at his home in Florida.
