Vulnerable, less privileged, and persons with disabilities have been encouraged to guide their young ones in applying for the Presidential Secondary School Bursary (PSSB).

A Children's Officer Vivian Omollo has also called upon guardians to be at the forefront of helping their children, orphans and vulnerable children (OVCs) from very poor households, seek the Presidential Secondary School Bursary.

The Presidential Secondary School Bursary is a flagship project of Vision 2030 that seeks to reduce illiteracy by increasing access to education and improving transition rates from primary to secondary schools. "We have forms in our Children's Department across all the Sub Counties, and we are urging guardians to come, collect and fill the forms before their applications can be considered," said Omollo.

Already 439 students in Migori County have benefited from the PSSB in this 2024/25 financial year with Kuria East Sub County registering the highest number of 63 beneficiaries.
