President William Ruto has directed the panel tasked with recruiting nominees for the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) Chairperson and Commissioners to expedite the process.

Speaking on Tuesday afternoon during the burial of Malava Member of Parliament Malulu Injendi, the Head of State called on the panel to speed up the process to allow Malava residents to vote for their new representative.

While calling for the immediate reconstitution of the electoral commission, Ruto pledged his support for Malava residents, maintaining that his administration would ensure seamless service delivery despite the death of their legislator. "I want to promise that I will not abandon you, we are together in this and for the respect of the former MP Injendi, who was my friend, I will walk with you to the end," Ruto told the residents.
