The Kenya Meteorological Department has cautioned Kenyans to prepare for moderate to heavy rainfall over the weekend, from Friday, March 7, to Tuesday, March 11.

In its weekend rainfall advisory published on Friday, the department noted that rainfall is expected in eight regions, including the Highlands West and East of the Rift Valley, the Lake Victoria Basin, and the Central and South Rift Valley.

According to Kenya Met, rainfall is also projected in the Coastal Region, the Southeastern Lowlands, the Northwest, and the southern part of the Coast. "Most parts of the country will experience predominantly sunny, dry, and hot weather conditions, followed by possible rainfall in several areas, particularly from the weekend onward," Kenya Met announced.
