The Kiambu County Government, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and AMREF Health Africa, has launched a Community Health Worker (CHW) Registry to improve primary healthcare services.

The registry aims to streamline data management, optimise resource allocation, and strengthen community-based healthcare services in the county.

It aligns with the Kiambu Community Health Act, which Governor Kimani Wamatangi has identified as a key part of his administration's healthcare plan. "My administration is implementing new strategies to strengthen our healthcare system, with the Community Health Act playing a central role in this vision.

This Act ensures that every resident of Kiambu has access to essential healthcare services at the community level while empowering health promoters to contribute to better health outcomes," said Governor Wamatangi Wamatangi announced that all 3,070 registered Community Health Promoters (CHPs) in Kiambu will be enrolled in a care programme to provide them with resources and support for healthcare delivery.
