Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen has ordered the reopening of all schools and health centres that were closed during the cross-border Transmara clashes.
In a statement on Monday, March 10, the CS, who met with a section of leaders from the two communities, asserted that following the government's deployment of additional security personnel in the area, the conflict has been quelled and calm restored.
However, Murkomen assured that the government would continue reinforcing security in the affected areas to ensure the smooth reopening of the institutions.
According to Murkomen, security personnel in the area have also been directed to apprehend any individual found carrying a weapon.
