Parents of Billy Mwangi who was allegedly abducted just over a week ago, on Monday, December 30, sent an apology to President William Ruto over their son's online activity calling for his release.

In a video sent to kenyans.co.ke by Mwangi's close friend, the parents asked for pardon after Billy disappeared due to what many pointed to as Billy's posting of depreciating AI images of Ruto on his X account.  While lamenting about their plight since Billy's abduction, the parents, Gerald Karija and Regina Wairimu, promised to take the necessary action to discipline Billy if the President sanctioned the release of their son.

We will discipline our son accordingly and show him the right way," they added.
