Nyamira County Woman Representative, Jerusha Momanyi has urged residents of Nyamira County to officially register their groups so that they can benefit from governments' funding and empowerment projects in the county.

Momanyi made this appeal when she was issuing tents to registered community-based groups in Nyamira observing that most residents, especially youths, women and persons with disabilities lose out on government funding and other development projects meant to empower them because they fail to work in teams. "Government's strategy of empowering its citizens financially is through registered groups by the Department of Social Development.

People with common economic empowerment interest and a vision for economic growth can be readily supported by the government because they have shown unity of purpose," said Momanyi.

Momanyi explained that government officers can more easily reach people at the grassroots level when they are organized in teams or groups.
