The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has arrested 38 suspects linked to a spate of robberies targeting pedestrians and motorists along major Nairobi highways during President William Ruto's tours of the city.

The suspects, now in custody across various police stations, are accused of terrorising residents along Thika Highway, Waiyaki Way, and Jogoo Road.

These areas have recently witnessed a surge in attacks, with criminals using motorcycles to ambush victims, snatch valuables, and flee the scene.

According to the DCI, during the operation, seven motorcycles believed to have been used in the robberies were recovered, along with several mobile phones stolen from victims.
