Turkana County Deputy Governor, Dr John Erus Lopeyok, hosted Dr Evans Gacheru, the Area Manager for Peace Winds Japan, during a courtesy visit to discuss the operationalisation of the Kalobeyei Modern Garage.
The discussions centered on ensuring the project delivers direct and sustainable benefits to the host and neighboring communities while fostering economic empowerment and development.
Dr Erus underscored the importance of establishing a comprehensive Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to define roles and responsibilities among partners, ensuring the effective operation of the garage. "The county is committed to working closely with stakeholders to ensure this project directly benefits the people of Turkana.
The operationalisation of the garage must extend beyond basic support to create a lasting impact," he stated.
