Kakamega Governor Fernandes Barasa has reaffirmed his commitment to improving healthcare services in Navakholo Sub-county, with a special focus on maternal health.

Speaking at Naulu PAG Church in Bunyala Central Ward, the governor outlined key initiatives aimed at enhancing medical services in the region.

He said one of the major projects set to begin in June is the construction of a 45-bed capacity modern maternity ward at Navakholo Level 4 Hospital.

He said the plan, in partnership with the Safaricom Foundation, was expected to improve maternal healthcare and reduce congestion in existing facilities. "We are taking the best steps to ensure that mothers and newborns receive good care.
