Westlands MP Tim Wanyonyi has spoken out about missing President William Ruto's Kamukunji rally, denying rumours that he deliberately skipped the event to avoid Governor Johnson Sakaja.

Speaking in an interview with Milele FM on Wednesday, 19 March 2025, Wanyonyi dismissed claims that he was strategically avoiding Sakaja, his potential competitor in the 2027 Nairobi gubernatorial race.

He also denied allegations that he skipped the prayer meeting for Raila Odinga's African Union Commission (AUC) bid at Bomas due to personal grudges.

Wanyonyi clarified that he was out of the country for an important engagement during the Bomas event, stating that he had been informed about the meeting but was unavailable to attend.
