President William Ruto has made changes to government, reassigning Principal Secretaries and nominating new PSs in a move aimed at strengthening economic and social development.

The changes, made through Executive Order No. 1 of 2025, include promotions, reassignments, and foreign service postings.  According to the Executive Office of the President, the restructuring seeks to advance the administration's Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA) by tapping into emerging economic sectors and addressing social challenges.

In the Executive Office of the President, Amos Gathecha has been promoted from Public Service PS to deputy Head of the Public Service while Education PS Belio Kipsang as been reassigned to State Department for Immigration and Citizen Services.

Principal Secretary, State Department for Broadcasting and Telecommunications Edward Kisiang'ani has been appointed senior advisor and member of the President's Council of Economic Advisors.
