Six people have been killed in a suspected Al-Shabaab attack on a National Police Reservist (NPR) camp in Biyamadhow, Fafi Sub-county, Garissa County.

Police reports at the Hagadera Police Station indicate that four others were injured during the dawn attack.  "At around 0530 Hrs suspected Al-Shabab militia attacked a National Police Reservist Camp and those injured were rushed to hospital," the report read in part.

It was reported that the attackers stormed the camp using assorted weapons, and overran the camp in what is believed to be a well-coordinated assault. "In response, a multi-agency security team, led by the Anti-Terrorism Police Unit (ATPU), has launched an investigation into the incident," authorities stated.

Security operations in the area have been intensified.
