Kiambu Governor Kimani Wamatangi, through the County Executive Committee Members (CECM), Education, Gender, Culture, and Social Services Mercy Njagi, has revoked the appointment of 22 members of the Ward Education Bursary Committees.
In a Gazette notice dated March 21, 2025, Njagi confirmed that the members, from 7 wards, have been dismissed effective immediately. "IN EXERCISE of the powers conferred by section 7 of the Kiambu County Education Bursary Fund Act 2014, the County Executive Committee Member for Education revokes the appointment of the persons named in the first column of the schedule as members of Ward.
Education Bursary Committees of respective wards as specified in the third column of the Schedule," it stated.
The notice, however, did not disclose the reason for their dismissal.
