Farmers in Kericho County have expressed relief following the resumption of fertiliser distribution by the National Cereals and Produce Board (NCPB) after a brief delay last week, occasioned by logistical challenges.
A spot check by KNA at the NCPB Kericho depot found numerous farmers eagerly collecting their fertilisers in preparation for the upcoming planting season.
Many farmers were unable to access the commodity last week, despite having received electronic vouchers, causing concern among local farmers, who rely on timely fertiliser distribution to ensure a successful planting season.
Officers from the NCPB Kericho branch reported that the distribution process had begun and urged farmers to visit the depot for the government-subsidised fertilisers at Sh 2500 per 50-kilogramme bag.
