Kolanya Girls National School and Kolanya Boys High School from Teso North have emerged as the top performers in Busia County in the 2024 KCSE, registering over 87 percent direct university entry.

Speaking while presenting KCSE results for 2024, Kolanya Girls' National School Principal Tabitha Okama appreciated the support of the teachers, parents, students, and other stakeholders towards the school's stellar results. "In the year 2024, we had a candidature of 266 girls where our top student scored an A of 82 points; others included 10 A-, 43 B+, 42 B plain, 75 B-, 57 C+, 21 C, and 17 C-.

We had a total number of 228 girls with direct entry to university, while as a school we emerged the top in the county with a mean of 8.04, which is a B-.

Our commitment remains in integrity, which is our core value, and we will continue working hard as the school and students so that we continue to perform well," she said.
