The mother of the Kenyan police officer killed in Haiti, Benedict Kabiru, on Thursday, 27 March, spoke for the first time, demanding clarity from the government on her son's whereabouts.
According to Kabiru's mother, who was speaking to NTV, police authorities informed her that her son is missing, seemingly contradicting other reports indicating that Kabiru is dead.
Today, the Presidential Transitional Council (PTC) of Haiti confirmed Kabiru as the police officer, disclosing that he was shot dead on Monday, March 24, 2025, in Savien, while carrying out an anti-gang operation.
According to the transitional council, the officer, who was part of the Multinational Security Support (MSS) mission in Haiti, was killed during the operation carried out jointly with the Haitian forces.
