Residents of Samburu East Sub-County have pledged to collaborate with security forces to combat the ongoing threat of armed criminals terrorizing businessmen.
Speaking during a security meeting with Nyumba Kumi elders, chiefs, residents, and the business community in Wamba town, Samburu County Commissioner (CC) John Cheruiyot assured residents that the government is committed to maintaining peace in the sub-county by apprehending the few criminals that have been carrying out armed robberies in Wamba and Archers Post trading centers.
While addressing the gathering, Rotich noted that a few criminals have been targeting businesses in Wamba town, and this has resulted in the death of a Meru businessman.
The administrator called on the business community in Wamba East to install CCTV cameras as a way of helping the security apparatus to apprehend the criminals. "We have agreed that every resident should be involved in maintaining security, and business people have agreed to put up security cameras to aid us in apprehending the culprits," he said.
