The Kenya Meteorological Department has cautioned Kenyans living in various parts of the country to prepare for moderate to heavy rainfall over the next five days, from March 28 to April 1.
In its weekend rainfall advisory published on Friday, March 28, Kenya Met warned residents in the Highland East region, the Lake Victoria Basin, the Rift Valley, the South-Eastern Lowlands, the Coast, and Western Kenya to brace for heavy rains.
The Highland East counties of Nyandarua, Laikipia, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Murang'a, Kiambu, Meru, Embu, Tharaka Nithi, and Nairobi were among the areas projected to receive heavy downpours.
According to the weather department, rainfall in these areas will begin in the afternoon and extend into the night, with the downpour expected to be accompanied by thunderstorms.
