The Migori Public Service Board has outlined reasons why 181 county workers were let go from their various positions in the County Government.
In a Gazette Notice dated January 10, the Board revealed that most of the staff let go were from the Center for International Health Education and Biosecurity (CIHEB) department Receiving their remuneration from CDC-USAID, the contracts in the department run up to September 30 and are renewed upon request starting October 1. "The Board was requested by the Department of Public Health and Sanitation to renew the contracts of the existing CIHEB staff, effective 1st October 2024 and upon ensuring that the following parameters were met, the same was renewed," part of the notice read.

Twitter However, only 319 were renewed while the other 91 were let go after reviewing several parameters including; Staff performance appraisal, relevant academic documents, relevant registration, and valid licenses as well as disciplinary cases.
